Joey V. Duckworth

MILTON - On Tuesday morning August 17, 2021, Joey Duckworth, loving son, and brother passed away at the age of 63. Joey was born April 4,1958 in Baltimore, MD to John and Charlotte Duckworth. He graduated from Christiana H.S. in Newark in 1976, and he then joined the U.S. Navy. After the Navy, he graduated Goldey Beacom College and got his master’s degree from Wilmington University. Joey had a passion for sports, he was an Orioles and Eagles fan. And he loved to play basketball and tennis. He was known for his quick wit, and he loved to laugh. Joey was preceded in death by his fathers, John, and Robert F. Burns; and his brother and sister, Patrick Burns and Barbara Berry. He is survived by his mother, Charlotte Burns; his brothers, John (Linda), Glenn (Debbie), Allen (Tammy), Michael Burns, Kevin Burns, Timothy (Susan) Burns, and Brian Burns; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. A viewing will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Lewes Presbyterian Church, 133 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, with funeral services at 11 am. A luncheon will be held at the church hall after services. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd, Milford, DE 19963.
