John Howard Walls, Sr.

MILFORD – John Howard Walls, Sr., 74, of Milford, passed away at his home on Friday, September 24, 2021, surrounded by his family. A lifetime resident of Milford, John was born on December 2, 1946, to the late Howard French Walls and Sarah Elizabeth Roberts Walls. John owned and operated a chicken farm for over 25 years. He was a member of Pilgrim Chapel in Harrington. He was known as a genuinely caring person and a good friend. One of his favorite daily habits was hanging out at the Donut Connection, where he would enjoy a good cup of coffee and even better company. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brother, Oscar Kenneth “Kenny” Walls; and his niece, Wanda Kay Walls. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Linda Sue Thompson Walls; his son, John Howard Walls, Jr. (Hilary); his grandchildren, Jayven Hensley Walls and Hannah Jean Walls; his brother, George Walls (Sandra); his sister, Phyllis Ann Walls; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Bonnie Thompson, Deborah and Larry Brooks, Cindi and Joseph Wilkins, and Robert and Terry Thompson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Funeral services will he held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 10:00 am in the sanctuary of Pilgrim Chapel, 4792 Milford-Harrington Hwy., Harrington, DE. A time of visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will follow at Barratt’s Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in John’s memory be made to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
