John Lagunas

GEORGETOWN – John Lagunas, age 26, passed away on April 22, 2022. John proudly served his country, receiving an honorable discharge from the US Marine Corp with the rank of Corporal with 5 years’ service (2013-2018). Following his military service, John was very proud to have earned his CDL and was excited to drive a flatbed truck for TMC Transportation. John loved his job and long-distance hauling. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed shooting at the gun range, was an avid reader, loved watching movies and was an auto enthusiast, he especially loved Subaru’s. John adored his family and enjoyed time spent with them. He was always up for a good talk about politics and social issues. He is survived by his loving wife, Alejandra Lagunas; his precious daughter, Georgiana Lagunas; his adoring mother, Maria Lagunas; his siblings who loved him dearly, Jean Lagunas, Gricelda Gallegos, Jacqline Lagunas, Sergio Gallegos, Genesis Benitez, and Lyla Gallegos; and their families, as well as their dad’s, Josue Benitez and Ramiro Gallegos; along with extended family. A funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Wednesday, May 11th, 2022 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, De 19947. A time of visitation for family and friends will begin at 3:00pm. Interment with military honors will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, May 12th, 2022 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, De 19966.
