John R. Haas

John R. Haas, 48, of Harrington, Delaware, passed away at University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia on Friday, November 25, 2022.

John was born in Wilmington on April 9, 1974 to the late Ray Haas and Diane Martin.

John was a big fan of heavy metal music and the Washington Redskins. He was a Black Diamond member of the Harrington Casino. He enjoyed Playstation Live with his friends and was a gun collector. He was known as “the best joint roller”. He loved to laugh and have a good time, especially when he would dress up as Santa. He was the kindest guy; he would give you the shirt off his back and the joint from his hand. He had the biggest heart and the greatest smile.

He will be greatly missed by his brother, Daniel Haas; his sister, Melissa “Missy” A. Martin; his niece, Mackenzie Price; and his nephew, Chase Price; Aunts, Sandra Martin, and Patricia Martin; Uncles, David Martin (Ginger), Robert Martin Sr. (Lisa); Cousins, Chris Callaway (Karen), Ashley Callaway, Shirl Hoffmeir (Eric), Robert Martin Jr., Michael Martin, Bradford Martin, Chris Martin (Melissa), Joey Martin, and William Shetzler.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at noon at Berry-Short Funeral Home, 217 E. Main St. Felton, DE 19943. A time of visitation will be held from 10am-12pm.
