Leonard F. "Lenny" Williams

August 31, 2002 — October 3, 2022

MILTON – Leonard F. “Lenny” Williams passed away surrounded by family on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Cooper University Hospital in New Jersey.

Lenny was born at Beebe in Lewes, Delaware on August 31, 2002 and graduated from Cape Henlopen High School class of 2020. He loved all things weather related; snow, thunderstorms and rainbows, and desired to become a meteorologist. Lenny loved his Milton community and had just been made an honorary member of the Milton Fire Department, Station 85. Lenny attended Goshen U.M. Church and loved the relationships he had built with his church family.

Lenny enjoyed sports and, as a child, played baseball with Milton Little League. His love of sports spilled into his daily life. He was a fan of auto racing of any kind; especially Jimmy Johnson. He was a longtime fan of the Washington Nationals, the Philadelphia Eagles, the 76’ers and WWE wrestling. He could always be found with a game or sporting event on his television and attended many different games and events. Lenny enjoyed country music with a special affinity for Jimmie Allen. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing and kayaking with family. He enjoyed spending time at the beach making sand sculptures with the "Sand Bears" for the Special Olympics and loved a good backyard bonfire with his family and friends. As a dedicated big brother to Jack, Lenny came out to almost every single little league game to show his support and cheer him on. Lenny had a soft spot in his heart for his beloved cat, Abby.

Lenny was preceded in death by his paternal great grandmothers, Thelma Sharp and Margaret Carey; paternal great grandfather Francis Carey; maternal great grandparents, Carol Boyer, John and Catherine Boyer; and his great-great uncle, Leonard “Chap” Lambdin.

He is survived by his mother, Krista Williams; his father, Stephen Carey and wife Christa; brother, Jack Carey; step brothers Jacob Handley and John Handley; paternal grandparents, Milton and Jane Carey; maternal grandmother, Lynn Williams; maternal grandfather, Phil Williams; aunts and uncles, Heather Williams, Phillip Williams, Jacob Williams, Angela Jones and husband Jay; his three closest friends, Cameron Otwell, Andrew Blazek and Aiden Hamer; a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family and friends; and his cat Abby.
