Louis W. "Buzz" Lohrfink, Iii

Louis W Lohrfink III, (Buzz), 74, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2022 in Lewes, DE. This beloved husband, father, Pop-Pop and great-grand Pop-Pop will be missed tremendously. Born on August 31, 1947 in Baltimore, MD. He was the son of Louis W Lohrfink and Jean Bounds Hubbert. He graduated from Wicomico High School in Salisbury, MD. Buzz was dedicated to serving his country. He enlisted in the Navy, and proudly served for 10 years. After leaving active duty he joined the Air Force Reserves as an Air Reserve Technician. Buzz began his Federal career as a sheet metal mechanic at Dover Air Force Base. He enjoyed this chapter of his career the most; retiring from both in 2006. He could repair just about anything and enjoyed rebuilding cars in his spare time. Buzz also enjoyed sitting on his porch watching wildlife with his wife, Nancy and their dog, Oliver. He is survived by his loving sons, Louis W Lohrfink IV, (Debbie) of Delaware and Jeffrey Lohrfink (Kristi) of Virginia. He was the loving PopPop to Megan, Jeremy and Chandler Lohrfink, Haley (Ronnie) Edwards, Bethany Jump, Karleigh Lohrfink, Jason Lohrfink, and Riley Bratcher. Great-grandson, Weston Lohrfink, and another great-grandson on the way. He is also survived by his sisters Sandra Clark, Melissa Tyler and sister-in-law Patricia Jones; brothers-in-law Tom and Michael Henderson. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Nancy Henderson Lohrfink, in December of 2021. They are finally together again. Family and friends may call at Buzz and Nancy’s visitation May 13th from 10:30am-11:30am in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, DE 19947, the joint funeral service for Buzz and Nancy will begin at 11:30am. Interment will take place May 13th at 1:00pm. Located at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery – 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
