Manuel M. Aguilar

Manuel M. Aguilar passed away peacefully at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Born in Aguascalientes, Mexico to the late Luis and Lucia (Martinez) Aguilar, Manuel later moved to California and lived there for many years, he played semi-professional baseball. He returned to Mexico and was a proud member of the Mexican Association of Charros. He was honorably discharged from serving in the Mexican military. Manuel loved fast muscle cars and was proud of his own ’67 mustang. Above all in life, he valued and loved his family, his wife, daughters, and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Manuel is preceded in death by eight of his brothers and sisters.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Carmen Aguilar; two daughters, Elizabeth C. Weldon (Kelly), Lucia C. Campos (Saul); grandchildren, Alek Abularach, Samantha Campos, Sabrina Campos, Josh, Campos, Carlos Campos, Adriana Campos, Everardo Paneda; brothers, Edmundo Aguilar, Carlos Aguilar, Alejandro Aguliar, and Gonzalo Aguilar.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, DE. A funeral mass will begin at 2:00pm in the sanctuary of St. Michael the Archangel & Mary Mother of Peace, 202 Edward Street, Georgetown, DE.
