Margaret (Everett) Millman

MILTON – Margaret (Everett) Millman, known by Peggy to loved ones, passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, December 30, 2022. Margaret was born June 6, 1934 in Wilmington.

Margaret was a graduate of P.S. Dupont High School and loved to play sports. Margaret retired from Verizon after 35 years of service as a Business Office Supervisor in Wilmington. After retirement, she worked for 15 years for the House of Representatives as a Page. Margaret played basketball for Bell Telephone Company in the Women’s Industrial League and was awarded several MVP honors for her natural athleticism. She also loved to play softball and advanced to the semi pro team.

Margaret’s greatest joy in life was caring and supporting her family, especially her grandchildren, who she loved dearly. Margaret also loved to travel the world with her beloved husband, Richard Millman. She spent many blissful moments cruising around the world making memories with the man she loved most. Margaret and Richard shared 56 years of wonderful marriage together.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy Everett and Mary Gregerson; along with her maternal grandparents, Hattie and Thomas Cannon.

Margaret and Richard had two sons, Dominick Remedio, III and Richard Millman, II; followed by grandchildren, Justen, Kayla, Maegan, Miles and Maya. Margaret also had the blessings of great grandchildren, Nykole, Jesse, Justen Jr., and Iris. Peggy will be remembered dearly for the compassion of her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at Noon on Saturday, January 7, 2023 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, DE 19968. A time of visitation for family and friends will begin at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow at Whites Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family welcomes memorial donations to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or Whites Chapel UM Church, 15373 Coastal Highway, Milton, DE 19968.
