Maria Isabel Castillo Gaytan

March 13, 1972 — August 31, 2024

Maria Isabel Castillo Gaytan of Georgetown, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was 52.


Maria was born March 13, 1972, in Mexico City, Mexico.  The daughter of the late Isidro Castillo Rodriguez and Eduarda Gaytan Monrreal.


Maria moved to the US from Mexico in 1991.  She was a parishioner of St. Michael The Archangel Church in Georgetown and Our Lady of Guadalupe in Roxana.  She enjoyed cooking, couponing, gardening and most of all spending time with her family.


In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Ramon Castillo.


She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Juan De Dios Vazquez of Georgetown; son, Bryant Vazquez Castillo; daughters, Margaret Vazquez Castillo, and Vanesa Valeria Vazquez Castillo all from Georgetown; brother, Isidro Castillo of Georgetown; sister, Ana Castillo of Lincoln; and brother Miguel Castillo of Frankford.


There will be a viewing at 11:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday, September 7, 2024, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 East Market Street, Georgetown, DE.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Dupont Blvd, Georgetown, DE.
