Marie Jo Gray

Marie Jo Gray, 48-year resident of Lincoln, Delaware, passed away suddenly in the early morning hours, of June 16, 2024, of cardiac arrest. She was 85 years old.

Marie Jo was currently self-employed and enjoyed sharing Avon, Mia Bella Candles and Tupperware. In earlier years, she was employed in Smyrna at Leeds Travelwear. As a homemaker and mother of 4 children, Marie Jo loved raising them and became their biggest fan. For many years she served as a Girl Scout Leader, a favorite Snackbar Attendant at Milford Skating Center (Mrs. Gray) and this year marked her 40th year serving as an officer on the Milford Parade Committee. Playing cards on the weekends with her adult children with lots of laughs was also a favorite past-time.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Stella Ludwig; son, Gerald and daughter-in-law, Mary.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Gray; sister Connie Bennett, daughters- Carmen Kemper (Bobby) and Gaye Hamilton (Scott), and son Charles Gray. She loved being a part of their lives and the lives of her 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Marie Jo was loved by anyone she met and always wanted the best for all.

The family will have a private burial service. Services provided by Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford.
