Marion Lee Shulties

Marion Lee Shulties, 78 FELTON – Marion Lee Shulties, lifelong resident of Felton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Marion was born in Milford, Delaware son of the late Paul and Ethel “Mub” (Melvin) Shulties. Marion was self-employed in the construction industry and operated his business, ML Shulties Construction for many years serving Felton and the surrounding communities. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1967-1969; honorably discharged after serving with the 1st Battalion, 18th Artillery. Marion Lee was described by his family as a hell raiser; he loved to have fun and enjoyed shooting pool locally at Browns Tavern and in numerous tournaments within Delaware and across the country; he also loved playing shuffleboard; and racing local dirt tracks years ago in Car #9, Justification. In addition to his parents, Marion is preceded in death by a sister, Grace Grogan-Rash; and brother, James “Ernie” Shulties. He is survived by a brother, Robert Shulties (friend Carole); three nieces; two nephews; his cat, Bubba; and many friends. The family extends sincere thanks to Meals on Wheels and all friends and family who helped with transportation to appointments through his illness. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Homes, Main Street, Felton, Delaware. A time of visitation will be held Tuesday evening, October 19, 2021 from 6 pm – 8 pm. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family welcomes contributions to Brandywine Valley SPCA, 1757 Horsepond Road, Dover, De 19901.
