BOHNERT, Mary Pauline (nee Mundy), born in Washington, DC, on April 23, 1925 to Julia Regina (Brawner) & Russell Aubrey Mundy, died on October 27, 2021, in Lewes, DE. Wife of Herbert J. Bohnert, Sister of William, Julia Mae (Mundy) Moore, Goldie (Mundy) Donahue, Thomas, Rebecca & Russell, all deceased. Mother to Margaret (Edick) Olynyk & Al Edick (both deceased) and Regina (Gibson) Robertson & Cynthia Gibson. Grandmother (Mimi) to Robert Burke (deceased) (Nancy), Elizabeth (Reinhart) Cona (Scott), Frances & Richard Edick, Gary Robertson, Gregory Robertson & Melanie Saxton. Great-Grandmother to Rachel Edick, Amber (Robertson) (Justin) Roten, Kathleen & Conor Burke, Sarah & Teresa Cona, Chase Robertson, Dominic Balbirer & Christian Robertson. Great-Great Grandmother to Abigail-Rose, Aidan & Aniston Roten. Mary also leaves three nephews and one niece. Mary has been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1964 and served as Auxiliary President, Post 108, Cheverly, MD, in 1971. Mary’s favorite work experiences included Information Operator with C&P in 1960s & Security Officer for the Washington Redskins & Washington Senators at RFK Stadium in 1970s. Mary’s hobbies included traveling, knitting, reading, playing Bingo & Yahtzee & going to the Casino. She traveled to Canada, Mexico, Scotland, England, Wales, Spain and her favorite, Ireland. Mary especially enjoyed sharing time with her family and friends. Mary will be interred in Arlington Cemetery with husband, Herbert J. Bohnert who served as an Air Force Pilot in WWII. There will be a Memorial Service and Celebration of her Life on April 23, 2022 at 11:00 am, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, DE.
