Maryann Oakley

MaryAnn Oakley, 74, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 2, 2021. MaryAnn was born in Yonkers, NY to the late Samuel and Rose Gaeta. She enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and boating with her husband John. She and John also travelled all over the eastern seaboard camping. MaryAnn was also an avid quilter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Oakley, Sr. She is survived by her sons, John C. Oakley, Jr., and James R. Oakley; cousin Laura Quiagliariello and grandchildren, Emma H. Davis and Andrew J. Oakley. A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 pm on Wednesday, May 5 and from 4 to 6 pm on Thursday, May 6 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 1pm at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 32112 Vines Creek Rd., Dagsboro, DE 19939. All those in attendance must wear a mask and adhere to social distancing and gathering protocols.
