Melvine C. Ludwig

Melvine “Mel” Charlotte Ludwig, 73, of Greenwood, DE and formerly of Baltimore, MD, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Milford Center in Milford, DE.

Mel was born on October 11, 1949 in Baltimore, MD, to the late Melvin Charles and Catherine Rose (Milchling) Wann.

Mel worked for many years for the State of Maryland as a controller and cash manager. Her life was marked by her unwavering dedication to and support for her beloved late husband, Jack in his career as a Baltimore City Firefighter and fire instructor. They enjoyed riding their ATV on the trails near their home. She and Jack were members of First Baptist Church of Milford. She was known for her love of cooking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in June 2022, John G. “Jack” Ludwig III; her sister, Kathleen McCullough; and her sister-in-law, Rosemary Day.

She will be greatly missed by her sisters-in-law, Ann Ludwig, Rosemary Day, and Mary Catherine Ashby; her nieces and nephew, Danielle, Michelle, Casey, and Stephanie; as well as her many church family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 12:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Milford, 6062 Old Shawnee Rd. Milford, DE 19963. A time of visitation will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Milford Community Cemetery.
