Michael Anthony Smith

Michael Anthony Smith, a cherished son, father, and mechanic, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024, at Polaris Healthcare in Milford, DE — the town where his memorable journey began on December 29, 1968. Known for his resilient spirit, Michael battled glioblastoma with dignity and courage until his final moments.

Crafting his career as a skilled mechanic for Pat's Aircraft LLC, Michael was also an esteemed metal fabricator and hotrod builder. He was deeply respected by the Milford community not only for his exceptional work but also for his patriotism and passion for fishing. Michael's life was a testament to dedication, both in his craft and to the people he loved. He will be profoundly missed, and the memories he created will be treasured forever.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Clinton and Melva Turner, who raised him; and his mother, Joanne (Bronson) Brockway. He is survived by his son, Joshua Smith, and Michael's legacy will be honored by him and the multitudes of friends and extended family members who admired him.

Services are private. Arrangements are in the care of Berry-Short Funeral Home of Milford.
