Nafsika Stavros, 82, of Milton, passed away peacefully at Beebe Hospital in Lewes on Sunday, December 15, 2024. Nafsika was born on November 21, 1942 in Evia, Greece to the late Konstantinos and Maria (Dovino) Chondrogiannis.
Nafsika lived a full and meaningful life. Academically; she obtained a master’s degree in economics. Professionally, she worked for the World Bank in Washington, DC, as an economist for 23 years. Socially, Nafsika was loved by her family, friends, and community. When she was younger, Nafsika enjoyed playing tennis; when she was not able to play, she enjoyed watching matches with others. She was an avid reader and was known for her giving spirit which was evident through her generosity to charities. She often delivered meals to those in need through Meals on Wheels. She had a very special relationship with her mother and sisters.
In addition to her parents, Nafsika is preceded in death by her two brothers and four sisters.
Together for forty-four years and married for ten, she will be greatly missed by her loving spouse Patricia Sullivan. She is also survived by her brother, Dimitri Chondrogiannis.
In addition to flowers, donations may be made in Nafsika’s honor to Beebe Hospital’s nursing school and the Dementia Society of America.
A time of visitation to remember and celebrate the life of Nafsika Stavros will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, DE 19968. Internment will immediately follow at Saint Peter’s Cemetery in Lewes, DE.
