Nancy A. (Banning) Burress

MILFORD - Nancy A. (Banning) Burress passed away peacefully on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Beebe Healthcare. Nancy was born in Milton, DE daughter of the late Vinal and Pauline (Carroll) Banning. Nancy’s joy for being around people led to her career in the hospitality industry. She was loved by all who knew her, admired for her strength and determination, and adored for her wit and sense of humor. Nancy loved spending time at the beach, decorating for the holidays, and her rescue cat; but most of all she cherished time spent with her grandchildren, and was an avid Phillies fan. In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by a sister, Delema Jester; and brother, William Banning. She is survived by her three children, Tonya Dory, Shannon Joyce and Jason Burress; four grandchildren, Logan Joyce, Madison Joyce, Carter Burress and Clark Burress; niece, Donna Davis and her husband Kenny; nephew, Ronnie Jester and his wife Kathy; sister-in-law, Vietta Banning; as well as other nieces, nephews and extended family. A visitation will be held for family and friends from 5-7pm on Thursday, November 11, 2021 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Homes, 119 NW Front St, Milford DE.
