Nora Lee (Lynch) Wilkins

FREDERICA – Nora Lee Wilkins, age 97, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

Nora Lee was born in Maryland, daughter of the late Claude, Sr., and Alameda (Harmon) Lynch. Nora Lee was a loving homemaker and enjoyed her garden, flowers and animals, especially cats. She also enjoyed working on the family farm. Nora’s faith was also an important part of her life and she was a member of the Milford Church of the Nazarene for over 60 years.

In addition to her parents, Nora Lee is preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. “Shorty” Wilkins; three brothers, Richard Lynch, Claude Lynch, Jr., and Lemuel Lynch; as well as a sister, Emma Coverdale.

She is survived by a son, Robert F. “Bobby” Wilkins; a daughter, Margaret E. Ingram and husband, Frank; two grandchildren, Michelle Decker and husband Darren, and Jared Ingram and wife Skye; four great grandchildren, Grayson and Preston Decker, Cohen and Lucy Ingram; two sisters, June Grove and Alma Riggin; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30pm on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Homes, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, where a time of visitation will begin at 11:30am. Burial will follow at Henlopen Memorial Park.
