Peggy Eileen Dill

Now resting alongside her mother and father, Peggy Eileen Dill, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 7, 2021. She was 61 years of age. Born on January 10, 1960, Peggy was a resident of a small town in Delaware, Viola, for most of her life. After graduation from Lake Forest High School and Nursing School at Delaware Technical and Community College, she worked for many years as a nurse with various experiences, including time at hospitals, private duty, and with most of her career as a visiting nurse with Christiana Care VNA. She was well respected by her co-workers, doctors, and patients. Peggy was very much a family-oriented person who treasured spending time with her loved ones, whether it involved a game of Outburst, watching reruns of her favorites, hanging out at the pool, rooting for the “Phantastic Phillies” or taking the littles one to the beach and ‘Funland’ in Rehoboth Beach. She lit up the room with her quirky dance moves and her contagious laugh. Her nieces and nephews loved visiting Aunt Peg, and many considered her to be their ‘fun aunt.’ Peggy always had a kind heart and reached out to others in her family, her workplace, and her community. If she could help, she was always willing to do so. And with her vast nursing knowledge, she was probably one of the earliest phone-in nursing consultants. Nieces were still calling her long after hanging up her stethoscope to find out what ‘something might be’ and what to do for an ailment. She loved being helpful, and she will be greatly missed by those who loved her. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Wanda Steuart and William Edgar Dill, Sr., both of whom passed away in 1999. She is survived by her four brothers and one sister, William E. Dill, Jr. (Susan), Robert S. Dill (Kathleen G.), June D. Stevens, James N. Dill (Kathleen W.), and Russell O. Dill (Theresa); her beloved nieces and nephews, Matthew Dill, Katherine Cannarsa, Stephanie Dill, Denise Forey, Christina Hawkins, Cassandra Mobley, Heather Johnson, Tyler Anaya, Ryan Dill, Margaret Dill, Jeffrey Dill, and Derek Dill; and several great nieces and nephews; also by her two longtime friends, Terri N. Wright and Gary Patton. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Viola Ruritan Club, 29 Ruritan Lane, Viola, DE 19979.
