Milford—Richard “Scotty” L. Scott, 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, April 4, 2022. Richard was born on January 18, 1940, in Dover to the late Walter L. Scott and Dorothy (Lavere) Scott. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for 47 years with Local 542 of Wilmington. Richard was a veteran, serving his country in the Navy. He was a member of the Camden Moose Lodge, Milford American Legion Post 3, Milton I.O.O.F. Golden Lodge 17 and attended the Whatcoat United Methodist Church. Richard survived by his wife of 40 years, Ruth (Heisler) Scott and children Leslie Scott (Kathy), Sheldon Scott (Jennifer) and Tammy Beenick (Thomas); 9 grandchildren and 1 greatgrandson. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton, Delaware. A time for visitation will begin at 12:30pm to 1:30pm, where family and friends may gather at Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, Delaware.
