Richard L. Rockemann

Richard L. Rockemann of Georgetown passed away Monday, August 5, 2024, at home. He was 70.

Richard was born the son of the late Merle and Ethel (Hayman) Rockemann.

He attended Crossroads Community Church. As a child he and his friends worked on the Alton Rogers farm in Georgetown. As a teenager he started working and learning the trade as a brick mason and worked in the business for over 50 years before retiring. He was an avid Hunter and enjoyed clay shooting.

Most of all Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Hunter Rogers, “his pride and joy”.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Donald.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Sandy L. (Gordy) Rockemann; daughters, Tonya Steinman (Scott) NJ and Shelly Rogers, FL; sister, Pam Byus Milton and brother, Robert Rockemann, Felton; grandson, Hunter Rogers, Georgetown; nieces, Jennifer Wells and Breanna Hastings and their families; sister-in-law, Brenda Enders and her son, Cory Enders.

A funeral service will be held 1:00pm, Monday, August 12, 2024, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services 609 E. Market Street Georgetown where friends may call after 11:00am. Burial will be in Union Cemetery Georgetown.
