Rita R. Hitch

Rita R. Hitch, 79, of Milford passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at home. She was born in Bladenboro, North Carolina to the late Teed H. and Lessie E. (Muse) Skipper. Rita was a homemaker and worked on their 12 and 16 foot boats, taking people out in the Bay to fish from 1974 to 1986. She was a member of the Memorial Fire Company Auxiliary in Slaughter Beach. She enjoyed bike riding. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son in law, Mike Davis. She is survived by her husband, William C. Hitch, 4 children, Steve Hitch (Tracy), Gary Hitch (Violet), Lori Davis and Rita Gail Hitch; sisters, Janet Singletary, Wanda Singletary and Nanette Soles; 6 grandchildren, Caitlin, Gary, Eric, Kevin, Michael and Michaela and great grandson, Josh. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Berry Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, where friends may call after 1:00 pm.
