On December 23, 2024, Robert “Bob” Louis Moore, of Lincoln, Delaware passed away in his home after a long and hard-fought illness.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 9, 1947, Bob graduated from Glen Burnie High School in Maryland in 1965. Immediately after high school and during the Vietnam War, he served our country as a jet engine mechanic for four years in the United States Air Force.
While stationed at Dover Airforce Base in Dover, Delaware, he met Barbara Jo Rogers who later became his wife on June 17, 1967. They had their only child, Robert Lynnwood Moore, in 1968.
After completing service in the Air Force, Bob moved his family to Maryland where they spent the next twenty-five years residing in Glen Burnie and Pasadena and worked as a construction foreman and then Superintendent at Strohecker, Inc. in Annapolis. Bob and Barbara returned to Delaware in 1995 to be closer to family and Bob became the Superintendent of the Water Department for the City of Milford until retirement in 2009.
Bob was a huge sports fan and had an unwavering loyalty to the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Colts (Indianapolis Colts). He appreciated athletic talent, enjoyed talking about sports, and sharing good stories. Bob’s biggest and greatest love was for his dogs. He was a very loving pet parent to numerous pups throughout his life – they were his true pride and joy. Most recently, he adored his devoted “Jersey Girl” who spent a lot of time with him during his illness and was with him when he passed.
Bob is survived by his loyal wife of 57 years, Barbara Jo Moore, and his son Robert L. Moore. He is also survived by his sister Terry Cook and her daughter, Kim; sister-in-law Joyce Cline; brother-in-law Wayne Rogers; and a large host of nieces and nephews.
