In Loving Memory of Robert Joseph Bogan

Robert Joseph Bogan "Coffee Bob", age 89 of Milford, Delaware, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024 at Bayhealth Dover. He was born on November 5, 1934, to the late Edward W. and Grace Irene (Gordon) Bogan in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The family relocated to Delaware in August of 1945.

Robert had a distinguished military career, joining the Navy at the age of 17 and serving from 1952 to 1956. He continued his service in the Army Reserves from 1956 to 1958 and later joined the Coast Guard, where he served from 1958 to 1961. After his military service, Robert worked at Playtex in Dover, Delaware, where he dedicated himself until his retirement in 1997.

A devoted family man, Robert cherished his daughter, Bobbie Kirkpatrick, and son-in-law, James Kirkpatrick, of Greenwood, DE. He deeply loved his grandchildren, Megan Kirkpatrick of Lewes, DE, Matthew Kirkpatrick of Maple Shade, NJ, and Mackenzie Kirkpatrick of Lewes, DE. Robert is also survived by his sisters, Pat Andrews and Runae Green, along with numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his grand dogs (Woofies).

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nancy Lee (Carter) Bogan, brothers Edward Bogan, Raymond Bogan, John Bogan, and Ronald Bogan, and sisters Mary Propes and Grace Greenlee.

Robert found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed fishing, feeding and watching the birds, watching his grandchildren, and enjoyed spending his leisure hours watching his favorite shows on his TV. His love for his family knew no bounds, and he leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories.

A celebration of Robert's life will be held on Saturday, February 24th, 2024 at 12:30pm at Avenue United Methodist Church 20 N. Church Street Milford, De. A time of visitation will be held on the same day from 11:30am-12:30pm.

Robert Joseph Bogan will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. May he rest in peace, his memory living on in the hearts of those he loved.
