Robert Lala, aged 83, passed away suddenly on January 30, 2025, in Lewes, Delaware. Born on March 27, 1941, in Jersey City, he was a lifelong resident of New Jersey. He dedicated his career to research and development at Unilever. Robert was known for his educational discipline, along with his generous and kind nature that truly defined him as a good man.
He had a profound fascination with World War II history, showcasing his patriotic spirit throughout his life. In his leisure time, Robert was an avid collector of model trains, a hobby that brought him immense joy. He was a train enthusiast and a member of the Lionel Collectors Club of America. He loved baseball and never missed a season of cheering on The Mets. A proud member of the United States Airforce, Robert dedicated part of his life to serving his country, embodying the values of duty and honor. He was an active member in the American Legion and was a proud Veteran. His military service was just one facet of a life marked by commitment and care for his family.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, James and Emily (Schneckenburger) Lala. Robert will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Linda Lala, and sisters Judy Marsden and her husband Thomas, and Louise Huber. He is also survived by his nieces; Amy Navarro, Jill D'Alessandro, Janet Maziekien, and Judy Grosjean. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
