Ronald Gene Messick

Ronald Gene Messick, 68, of Ellendale, passed away on Monday, February

20, 2023 at the Delaware Hospice Center.

Ronald was born on June 28, 1954 to the late James Messick and Paulina

(Smith) Willey.

Known for being larger than life, and his over-the-top-personality, Ronnie

will be missed. He loved to spend his free time boating and fishing. He was proud of his “Cadillac Shack.” His love for his family was evident throughout his life.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Linden

“Buddy” Messick.

Ronnie will be greatly missed by his wife, Mary Katherine Messick; his

children, Paige Morehouse (Samuel), Alex Messick (Faith), and Robert Ward (Courtney); siblings, James Messick Jr., Clara Tackett, Edie Banzhof, Lois Wiley, Becky Fisher, and Andy Messick; and his grandchildren, Mac, Caidyn, and Savana.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at his family home.

Services are in the care of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St.
