Ronald Wilson Moore

December 6, 1938 — April 20, 2025

Ronald Moore passed away peacefully in his home on April 20, 2025, at the age of 86. He was surrounded by his beloved family.

Ronald was the eldest son of J. Everett Moore, Sr. and Dorothy Wilson Moore. Ronald was born at home in Georgetown, Delaware on December 6, 1938.

After marrying Patsy Lee McCabe on August 16, 1961, they settled in New York. They moved back after a couple years to Bridgeville, Delaware where he worked for Lester Newton Trucking.

Ronald later moved back to his hometown, Georgetown, Delaware where all his family and friends resided. He lived in his beloved community for over 60 years. Ronald had a passion for real estate, the stock market, investing, reading, country music, and watching birds. He also enjoyed his morning meetings with the “Wilson Store Boys”.

He first started his entrepreneur path with Moore Farms and later founding member of Indian River Land Company. Shortly after ending his time there, he began Ronald Moore Country Realty.

Ronald met a lot of people, donated to numerous local organizations, and truly believed in helping those in his community. He was a member of the Nanticoke Chapter 21 of the Delaware Redman, The Orphan’s Board, and Master Mason at Mason’s Franklin Lodge #12 A.F. & A. M. He was also an active life-long member of St. John’s Church.

Family was very important to Ronald. He will be forever remembered by his loving wife Patsy Lee Moore, of sixty-four years; his daughter, Rhonda Moore Dukes and his son-in-law, Chris Dukes; and his triplet granddaughters- Ember Dukes, Alexandra Dukes, and Taylor Dukes.

He was preceded in death by his son, Eric W. Moore in 2018.

Ronald was greatly loved by his siblings; Merrill C. Moore; Everett Moore, Jr., and Teresa and Tom Adams.

Ronald had a large family whom he loved greatly, and they loved him greatly as well.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews, Merrill C. Moore, Jr., Jenny Boniface, Lara Lane, Jaime Mavrogeorge, J. Everett (Trey) Moore III, Ashley Adams, Ryan Adams, Donna Jones, Bonnie Hummer, John McCabe, Teal Richards, Kim Cropper, Dawn Gibbons, Todd McCabe, Stephen McCabe, and Kelly Carter.

He is survived by many great-nieces and great -nephews.

He is also survived by brother-in-law, Bill Hitchens and sisters-in-law, Margaret Francis Schaffer and Patience (Peggy) McCabe.

He was pre-deceased by sister-in-law and brothers- in- law, Della Hitchens, John Edward McCabe, Preston (Zeke) McCabe, Richard (Rick) McCabe; and niece and nephew, Billie Lynn Lawson and Mark Hitchens.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 3:00pm in the chapel of St John’s United Methodist Church, Gravel Hill Road, Georgetown, Delaware. A time of visitation will be from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Burial will be private.
