Sheila Anne Sullivan

July 30, 1960 — April 25, 2025

Sheila Anne Sullivan passed away peacefully on the morning of April 25th after many years of battling back pain and leukemia. She was born on July 30, 1960 at the Naval Hospital, Bethesda Maryland. As the daughter of a naval officer she attended several different schools, graduating from Oakton High School Fairfax Virginia. Throughout her life she loved and cared for many animals, especially her Himalayan cat for which she has many fond memories. After graduation Sheila began her professional career in banking, rising to Operations Manager of the Oakton PNC bank. Following that she spent a number of years with the American Psychological Association (APA) where she was responsible for collections of delinquent memberships. Unfortunately, her time with APA was cut short by the auto accident in which she suffered a severe back injury which ultimately caused her to resign because of her disability. At an early age Sheila developed a lifetime of love for antiques and jewelry from accompanying her parents to Maine country auctions. She loved giving small gifts to friends and relatives. She also was a fan of Neil Diamond and was ever grateful to be able to see him in concert. In 2009 she moved from Fairfax to her new home in Frederica to be near her aunt and cousins. Sheila was a person of enormous compassion, whether with animals or human. She will be missed by the many people who were touched by her love and generosity.

We want to thank Hospice and Country Rest Home for the care and support provided to Sheila and the support of the family during her long illness.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at 3 International Drive, Suite 200. Rye Brook, NY 10573 or to Forgotten Cats Inc. Suite 422 Kennet Pike, Greenville, DE 19807
