Shirley (Hayes) Taulbee

Shirley (Hayes) Taulbee, 77, of Lincoln, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at her home after a long struggle with CLL and COPD.

Shirley was born on July 5, 1946, in Milford, to the late Charles and Pauline (Shockley) Hayes.

She enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, knitting, and crocheting, and many other types of crafts. She always enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. She worked for Safeway, Marvel Insurance Agency, and most recently, the Milford School District in the child nutritional program.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Bobby R. Taulbee.

Shirley is survived by her son David (Carrie) Taulbee; her daughter Tracy (Lawrence) Grose; grandchildren: Amanda (Derek) Davidson, Lawrence Grose, Jr., Jaxon Taulbee, Savannah Conaway, and Hunter Conaway; great granddaughters: Olivia Davidson and Peyton Davidson; sister Patricia (Stanley) Johnson; and near and dear friend Carol (Donald) Wells.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 11:00am at Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St. Milford, DE 19963. A time of visitation will be held prior from 10:00am-11:00am the same day. Interment will follow at Barratt’s Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

Shirley has requested that attendees wear casual attire. In lieu of flowers, she also requested donations in her honor to a charity of your choice be made.
