FELTON – Steven Alan Stokes, Sr., went to join his parents, Leonard L. and Anna Mae Stokes, in their Heavenly home on Sunday, November 27, 2022.
Steven worked for many years with Draper King Cole in Milton. When the cannery closed, he joined IG Burton in Milford where he worked for the past 23 years. Steven held many positions during his time with IG Burton; most recently serving as Director of First Impressions. Steven loved working with the other employees and socializing with customers.
Steven was an active member of Harrington Moose Lodge #534 where he enjoyed volunteering for lodge functions. He loved shooting pool with his sons, Phillip and Steven, Jr.; spending time and going places with his grandchildren; and sitting outside with his fur babies, Callie and Gunner listening to classic country music.
In addition to his parents, Steven is preceded in death by a brother, Leonard G. Stokes; and daughter Stephanie Stokes, who lived in Arkansas.
He leaves behind his loving fiancé and best friend, Jill Willey; three sons, Steven A. Stokes, Jr., Phillip Stokes and Johnny Stokes, who resides in Missouri; one daughter, Samantha Breeding and husband Daniel; his sister, Debra Stokes; his brother, Michael Stokes; four grandchildren, Sophia Thomas, Bentley Breeding, Alicia Willey and Abby Willey; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 10, 2022 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Homes, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, Delaware. A time of visitation for family and friends will begin at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow at Milford Community Cemetery.
