Tara (Lilly) Coverdale

MILFORD – Tara Coverdale passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Tara was born in Seaford, Delaware to parents, Clark and Sudie (Ellison) Lilly.

Tara was a loving wife, friend, and mother. She loved children so much it led her to open an in-home daycare for several years. Her kind and gentle ways quickly made her the most sought after daycare in the community. Once retired, she became Grammy to her three granddaughters Allison, Paige, and Rylee. She was the Grammy only storybooks could describe. She taught her granddaughters how to read before kindergarten, made cookies, had sleepovers, read snuggly stories, went on way too many adventures to count and taught them to know and love the Lord.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Brent Lilly and Brad Lilly.

In addition to her parents, Tara is survived by her husband of 50 years, Clifford Coverdale; two sons, Keith Coverdale and wife Donna, Jeff Coverdale and wife Lindsey; and three grandchildren, Allison, Rylee and Paige Coverdale.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Milford Community Cemetery, 850 N. Dupont Boulevard, Milford, DE 19963.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
