Ted Williams McDonald, “Pop-Pop”, “Dad” “Teddy” 70 of Millsboro, DE passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at his home in Millsboro, DE.
He was born in Wilmington, DE to Betty Lucille Johns and William Edward’s McDonald.
Ted Williams McDonald was named after a famous major league baseball player. Ted was a dedicated team captain of the football team at Claymont High School Class of 1971. He also played for the varsity wrestling & baseball. Soon after high school, he attended Baltimore Community College where he also played football. Over the years he continued his profession as a commercial painter. His hobbies were watching the Phillies baseball and Philadelphia Eagles football. They were the highlight of his day. He was a people person who always said it like it was and knew how to make people laugh.
He was a family man who loved to spend time with his ex-wife Bonnie M. Gilday, his daughter Christi M. Perez (McDonald), and his six grandchildren Theresa, Lyla, Christian, Landon, Kylie, and Chloe. His grandchildren loved their Pop-Pop very much.
He is survived by his mother Betty Lucille Budrow (Johns) (McDonald), his siblings Charlotte, William(Bill)/Wife, David/Wife, and many friends, nieces, nephews, and loved ones. He is loved and will surely be missed. May he rest in peace.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery, DuPont Blvd., Millsboro, DE 19966 at 1:30pm. A time of visitation/service will be from 11:30am to 12:30pm for friends and family in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, DE 19947.
