Thomas A. Waters, Jr., passed away peacefully at his home in Milford, Delaware, on February 2, 2025, under the care of Delaware Hospice. Born on May 22, 1934, in Washington, DC, Thomas spent the last 60 years of his life in Delaware, where he left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Throughout his life, Thomas had a profound love for truck driving, dedicating his entire career to being a self-employed truck driver. His passion for the open road was evident, and he took great pride in the work he accomplished. In addition to his career, Thomas enjoyed a variety of pastimes that brought him joy. He was known to appreciate a good meal and often found pleasure in the company of others while savoring delicious food.
Thomas was actively involved in his community, becoming a life member of Harrington Moose Lodge #534 and also a life member of Temple Lodge No. 9 in Milford. These affiliations showcase his commitment to service and fellowship. In his later years, Thomas found enjoyment in playing slot machines in Harrington, DE, which became a beloved hobby.
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Ann Waters, and stepson Michael L. Webb, along with his fiancée Cindy. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Dalton Webb (Courtney), Delaney Webb (Tyler), Maddison Webb, and Grayson Webb, as well as his great-grandchild, Loretta "Lettie" Webb. Thomas is also remembered fondly by his friend Parker Abraham; and his furry companion, Abby the Cat. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Waters; his sister, June Clendaniel; and his parents.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be determined. Arrangements are in the care of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford, DE.
