Trudy Lee Hasko

Trudy Lee Hasko (nee: Newton), 76, of Houston, Delaware, passed away in the hospital on January 26th, 2022, after a brief illness. Trudy was born on October 9th, 1945, to William Hunter Newton and Helen Ruth Sullivan, in Fredericksburg, Stafford County, Virginia. After her schooling, Trudy met and married Johnny Phillips, a US Marine stationed at MCS Quantico, Virginia, in 1962. Afterwards, they moved to Kahnawake’, Quebec, Canada, where they had Paul (Phillips) Murphy, her first child, now of Bellingham, Washington. After Johnny’s death, Trudy moved to Delaware where she met and later married John Murphy and gave birth to two more children, Marjorie Watkins and Lisa Murphy, both of Delaware. After John’s death, she married Tibor Hasko and had two more children, Angel Delgadillo and Timothy Hasko, both also of Delaware. Trudy was a homemaker most of her life, was widowed three times, raised 5 good children she was proud of, a friend to many and overcame many obstacles in life. Later in life she retired from Playtex in Dover in 2009. She liked to shop for antiques and refinish old furniture in her spare time and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Trudy was wise beyond her years and was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. Trudy loved her family, her friends and all her family and friends loved her. She will be missed by all, but may our grief and loss be assuaged with the knowledge that she is reunited with all the loved ones who passed before and the Lord she loved with all her heart. Trudy was predeceased by her parents, William and Ruth; her stepfather who helped raise her with Ruth, John Rowe; her husbands, Johnny Phillips, John Murphy, and Tibor Hasko; and her siblings, Franklin Newton, Louise Cornett, Katherine Patton and Paula Newton. She is survived by her brother, Benjamin Newton; her 5 children, Paul Murphy (Lori), Marjorie Watkins (Allen), Lisa Murphy (Rick), Angel Delgadillo and Timothy Hasko (Jen); her 11 grandchildren, her 11 great-grandchildren, her lifelong friend Frannie Tortorella, and her many relatives of Stafford County, Virginia. Trudy did not wish to have any services. In lieu of cards or flowers, donations can be made to a veteran support group in her name.
