GEORGETOWN – Violet Dzierzanowski was born to Frank Levay and Esther Medvas, in New Brunswick, NJ on July 23, 1931 and passed away in Seaford, Del on Friday, June 4, 2021. Violet graduated from New Brunswick High School (NJ) and worked as a secretary. She married her husband Frank Dzierzanowski on September 4, 1954. After raising her children, Violet was employed as an executive secretary by American Standard Corporation where she retired in 1992. She and her husband lived in New Jersey for many years and moved to Delaware in 2019 to live near a family member. During her lifetime Violet was a Girl Scout Leader and participated in many church and social activities. She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. Violet enjoyed golf and played on many courses in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Myrtle Beach, SC and Scotland. She also enjoyed attending plays and musicals. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Frank; two children, Wayne in Delaware, and Diane D’Ardenne in Pennsylvania; and three grandchildren, Luke Dzierzanowski, David and Emily D’Ardenne; as well as, extended family and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 2-4pm in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, Delaware. Religious prayers and blessings will be offered at 3:30pm. A service with burial rites will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, June 10, 2021 in the chapel at Resurrection Cemetery, 899 E. Lincoln Avenue, Piscataway, NJ 08854. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Violet’s memory to: St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
