Walter Rawson Jr.

Walter Rawson Jr., 77, of Milton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

Walter was born on August 29, 1945, the son of the late Robert Reeves Sr. and Sophie (Hrycyk) Reeves.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Walter moved to Delaware in 1993 and later to Milton. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and was a proud supporter of the NRA. His love for his family was evident by the time he spent with them. Whether that be fishing, going to the movies, or being involved in boy scouts, Walter was there for those he loved. He was employed by Boeing Vertol for twelve years where he worked as a mechanical engineer till he retired.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his son, Walter Rawson III.

Walter is survived by his loving partner, Winifred Anuszewski; children, Christian Rawson (Jennifer Copeland), Todd Rawson (Brandie Marino), and Patricia Katch; grandchildren, Avery Rawson, Naomi Rawson, Alexis Rawson, and Samantha Katch; siblings, Robert Reeves Jr., Patricia Lloyd, and Donna Kime.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August the 26, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St. Milton, DE 19968, where friends may call after 1:00 pm. Interment will be private.

Arrangements in the care of Short Funeral Services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Walter’s honor to Delaware Hospice Center.
