Warren Bourquin Knowles, 87

Georgetown—Warren Bourquin Knowles, 87, passed away peacefully at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford Delaware on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 21, 1935, to the late Francis William Knowles and Catherine May (Bourquin) Knowles in Camden, New Jersey.

Warren was a Major in the Civil Air Patrol, was a member of the Sussex Amateur Radio Club (S.A.R.A.), and the American Federation of Musicians. He also served his country as a Sgt. in the Army National Guard. Warren was an accomplished pilot who in his spare time enjoyed spending time with his family, playing music and fishing.

In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by his brothers David Knowles and Laurence Knowles. He is survived by his loving wife, Martha E. Knowles; son, Warren "Randy" Knowles (Lisa); daughter, Cheryl A. Knowles-Harrigan (John), two grandchildren, Jamie Knowles Pollander (Nick) and Ryan Knowles, and three great grandchildren; Nicholas Pollander Jr., Joseph Warren Pollander, and Gianna Rose Pollander.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions are made to: Sussex CAP (Coastal Patrol Base 2 - Memorial Composite Squadron) at Sussex County EOC 21911 Rudder Lane, Georgetown, DE.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, DE 19947.
