Wayne D Ellingsworth

Wayne D. Ellingsworth, 75, of Georgetown passed away peacefully at Beebe Hospital on, Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Mr. Ellingsworth was born in Milford, DE to the late William and Elizabeth (Collins) Ellingsworth. Wayne was formerly the Director of the Emergency Operations Center in Georgetown and his most memorable working experience was as the administrative assistant for Governor Sherman W. Tribbitt. Wayne was a member of the Grace UM Church in Georgetown, a 32nd degree Mason and member of Franklin Lodge No. 12 A.F. & A.M. in Georgetown, and an Honorary Member of the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department. Wayne loved gardening and sharing his flowers as well as supporting his granddaughters’ sporting events. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Ellingsworth, William Ellingsworth, and Frankie Ellingsworth. He is survived by his wife, Diane Workman Ellingsworth; daughter, Lana Towers and husband Rob; sister, Elizabeth Ann Droddy and her husband Kenny; granddaughters, Shelby Rae Towers and Amber Leigh Towers; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Burial services will be private.
