Wayne P. Davis

Wayne P. Davis, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 28, 2023 at the age of 71.

Born in Wilmington, DE on July 03, 1952, to the late Jeanette Ruth (Taylor) Davis. Wayne started working as a Mason at the age of seventeen before becoming a construction supervisor for Capano Management Company. He worked for Capano for many years before becoming a CAD designer for Handler Coporation in roughly 2007. Wayne then decided to branch out on his own and created WD CAD Services where he was self-employed until he retired on May 1, 2023.

On June 12, 2009 he married his true love Ramona with whom he spent 14 years of marriage. Together they enjoyed walking, sitting in the back yard listening to the birds, and just enjoying each other’s company. Wayne was a self-taught CAD designer and loved designing homes, pole barns or any structure and did so with meticulous detail. He loved being outdoors with nature, working on his 1965 Ford truck , and playing pool and cards with his friends. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren as they were his pride and joy.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his loving sister, Becky Esping in January 2014, his cherished grandson, Davis Colley in May 2014 and his brother Mark Davis in June 2014.

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 14 years, Ramona G. Davis; his three children, Wayne Colley-Davis of Minnesota, Benjamin R. Davis of Middletown, Gennifer Kelling (Luke) of New Jersey; his daughter in-law Nichole Wiley (David) of Middletown, his two step-daughters Lisa Rollison (Casey) of Ellendale and Tina Mann (Brian) of Crisfield, MD., along with grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, DE 19963 on Thursday, November 09, 2023. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m. with the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
