MILTON – Willard E. McCabe, age 78, passed away at home on Monday, March 14, 2022. Willard was born in Lewes, son of the late Edward H., III and Constance (Preston) McCabe. He resided most of his life on the McCabe family farm on Round Pole Bridge Road. When the farm ownership was transferred by the family to the state for preservation as the Edward H. McCabe Nature Preserve, Willard moved nearby to Cave Neck. Willard enlisted in the Army Air National Guard where he served from 1963-1970. He received an honorable discharge with the rank of SP4. He also received the honor of Marksman. Once he returned home he began his banking career and retired from PNC bank in Bridgeville. Willard was preceded in death by his parents, as well as a brother, Edward P. McCabe (2018). He is survived by a niece and numerous cousins throughout the USA. Willard will be laid to rest privately in the McCabe family plot at Prince George’s Cemetery in Dagsboro.
