William Clark Lilly

William Clark Lilly passed away peacefully in his home on December 30th, 2023.

Clark was born August 5th, 1933, at Camp Creek West Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lennie C Lilly and James T Lilly, his brother James, his three sisters, Ruth, Faith, and Pauline, and his three children, Tara, Brent, and Bradley.

He enlisted in the United States Navy in June of 1951, and served as an Aviation Machinist’s Mate until June of 1954, being honorably discharged. After this he settled in Delaware and worked as a civil servant at Dover Air Force Base from May of 1956 until enlisting as an Air Reserve Technician in April of 1969, attaining the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and retiring in December of 1991.

He was a member of Berean Community Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher and Elder.

Clark spent his free time studying holy scripture, planting a vegetable garden every year, and reading history books. His favorite scripture verse was 1st John, 5:20.

Clark is survived by his wife, Sudie Jane Lilly, his grandchildren, Keith, Jeff, Pamela, Thomas, Daniel, and Jade, and his great-grandchildren, Allison, Paige, Rylee, Taylor, and Ava. All by whom he is affectionately known as Poppop.

A funeral service will be held at Berean Community Church, 2709 Milford Harrington Hwy, Milford, Delaware on Thursday, January 4th, 2024, at noon. His interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Millsboro, Delaware.
