William L. “Bill” Sapp, 72, of Harrington, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born in Houston, DE, son of the late William H. and Louise (Pearson) Sapp. He graduated 5th in his class in 1970, at the age of 17.
From a young age, Bill was a talented outdoor sportsman. He enjoyed deer hunting & attending and competing in local and national gun competitions earning him 2 national marksmanship records. He also found pleasure in watching old westerns and action movies, as well as riding motorcycles. Additionally, Bill participated in martial arts and earned his black belt, a hobby that he enjoyed for many years.
Bill was an avid land surveyor for 44 years and the proud owner and operator of his business, William L. Sapp, Professional Land Surveyor. He paid great attention to detail, and his professionalism, kindness, and knowledge was unmatched in his field of work.
Bill married the love of his life, Karen (Kreider) Sapp on October 27, 1979. Together they built a beautiful life and raised two daughters who were his pride and joy. Bill was best known as “Pop-Pop” to his 3 grandchildren, and much of his time was spent entertaining them and teaching them new life skills. In-between four-wheeler rides and bonfires, Bill’s greatest joy was attending every event for his grandchildren. He was no stranger to their sporting events, plays, award ceremonies, band & chorus concerts, and trips to the boardwalk for Grottos and Dairy Queen. He was their biggest supporter and #1 fan in all aspects of their lives. Later in life, he was recruited by his oldest grandson, Ashton, to become a dedicated Phillies and Eagles fanatic. In true Philadelphia style, he spent his last two weeks at the University of Penn during the Eagles Superbowl win and celebratory parade.
Bill was an active member of the Milford Church of God for over 40 years, where he served on several positions including the church council and ushering & greeting committees. He was a faithful attendee up until his passing. Bill will always be remembered for his Godly character, gentle spirit, boldness in faith, integrity, and unwavering love for Jesus.
